The Last Battle

The Civil war lasted from 1861 to 1865, it ended with the defeat of the Confederate states, and there return to the states. The period of time after the civil war was called "The Reconstruction"

The Results

The Civil War took more American lives than the Vietnam War, WW1, and WW2 combined, the biggest result was the end of slavery in the united states, and the addition of the 13th Amendment, that all men are created equal. Though, even afterward whites and blacks were far from equal, they were still segregate, did not get as good jobs. The South was virtually destroyed by the war, thousands of slaves were freed, also it was decided that no state could leave the Union.
